Default Illinois Information

I have not been visiting this site as much the past two months and was hoping to catch up on what is happening in Illinois. I leave for my buddies place in Clark County this Friday morning for 8 days of hunting and was hoping to gather some info on buck movement from out there. MDUFFY where are you with the latest updates?? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I have spoken to a few people today and things are heating up. 2 130" deeer chasing this morning and one 130+ plus this evening. They noticed more rubs and scrapes over the last few days. I'm heading down tomorrow for a week.

Thanks for the info. My buddy works out of town and does not have info on what is happening on his farm as of yet. I am hoping to get an update when we arrive Friday afternoon.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard this statement I would be a rich individual.

Here in central IL we are hoping things pick up. My and my buddy on here (1hunter) have each been hitting our properties and starting to see sign but not much sightings. Full moon and most crops still standing is hurting somewhat. I am still catching bucks on camera at night.

Looking for the weekend and next week for things to heat up!

I just got to illinois last night after dark and am getting ready for this mornings hunt. I have a few buddies that have been hunting in this area of illinois since Halloween and yesterday was the first time they saw bucks over 140 and they were chasing hard. All indications are that the chase phase for this area is in full swing. Prolly start the full breading in a few days

I was able to get out this morning here in PA thanks to this fantastic economy we all are enduring. Anyway, it seems like this morning was the day things kicked off and the bucks were certainly in search of the does. I saw 8 different buck by 10:30 am with three of them being in the 120" plus class (which is very good for the state of PA). All of the buck were either chasing doe or searching for does. The one thing I was able to witness that I had never seen in the wild was a 2.5 year old breeding a doe in the bean field 70 yards from my tree. It was a very good morning, unfortunately I was unable to get a shot at any of the mature bucks. Hopefully this activity will continue as I head to Illinois.
